Waiting to board our plane to Atlanta and then…off to Ireland!
(Left to Right) Carol Coffing (Mom), Evelyn, Jeanne Page (Director…it’s her fault
), Karen Harris (In the front), Natasha, Gabrielle, and Dominique
A building right next to Newgrange…not exactly sure what it was used for.
The bell at the Peace maze.
What a great way to start off our trip in Northern Ireland…following out tradition of getting lost, except this time it was on purpose.
On the bus to Newgrange!
The delicious food of Ireland! And what Irish food it complete without potatoes? (In this case it was a toasty, (aka grilled cheese sandwich), fish and chips (also known as fries)) It may not be the healthiest, but it sure does taste good!
Besides, everyone walks everywhere, so who needs to worry about food?
At An Cuan (Where we’re staying)
Isn’t it so green? And it’s the middle of winter no less! When living in the desert, it just doesn’t seem right. Don’t be fooled however, it may be green but it sure is cold! If you go in winter, bring a thick rain coat.
At the Saint Patrick Catholic Cathedral…we were going to go to the other Saint Patrick Cathedral also, but when it took us forever just to get to one of them (including getting lost…again
) We decided it would be wisest to just skip it.
The Ulster Park
A great place that shows the history of Ireland’s potato famine, then moving
over to the US and showing the ties to
both countries. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area
Lost in the maze
A Partial view of the Peace Maze
Yes! After walking for over an hour, we finally get to ring the bell
Gigi ringing the bell. An explaination of the reason behind the donkey is in the comments.
Castle next to the Peace Maze.
Sadly, many of the castles in Ireland are privatley owned, or owned by societies, so we weren’t allowed to go into it.
But it’s still beautiful!!!

Nice job. Maybe we could put some pictures of the Celtic Christmas and other performances up?

Her name is GiGi (really G.G., for Gala Girl) Galah pretty much means ‘listening.’ You know how God had to open a donkey’s mouth so it could speak for Baalem to listen? Aunt Jeanne didn’t want that to have to happen on this trip. We all wanted to listen so closely to Abba, He didn’t have to make an animal speak so we would hear Him. So she got Gigi as a reminder for us to keep our ears open. Aunt Jeanne gives a better explanation on her blog (from last month)
